The voice asserts yourself in the world. From the first hollering into existence to the last breath out of the material world, the voice claims our presence in time and space, it affirms our individuality but allows us to connect to the collective, it is a sonic trace of our ancestry and an aural vision of our future. The voice goes beyond language, beyond music, into an ontology of being. Howl Space Voice Salons seek to explore The Voice in its manifold of meaning, expressions, and practices along with practitioners of the voice from diverse disciplines and backgrounds.
The first Voice Salon of Howl Space invites artists, whose main instrument is the voice or are close practitioners to it, to discuss the empowering possibilities of A Voice and the found power in their Own Voice.
